We are seeking a Phlebotomist who are reliable motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and team working skills to join our practice.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Principle duties are to collect specimens of blood from patients attending the practice
To ensure samples and request forms match with the patient and are labelled correctly for delivery to the Pathology Directorate
To report as soon as possible to your line manager any problems that may arise.
Following standard operating procedures dispose of used equipment in a safe manner, reducing risks of needle stick injury to yourself and others.
To observe all practice, national and European Health & Safety regulations relevant to the service, ensuring attendance and completion of annual training.

In addition all staff must sign the departmental H&S policy to acknowledge understanding and compliance.

Person specification: 6 months experience in the last 2 years is desirable but not essential.

A knowledge of venepuncture
Understanding of need for patient confidentiality
Knowledge of Health & Safety issues
Use of IT equipment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize work

Hours of working will be 20 per week,
