Full job description

We are seeking an experienced, professional and organised Dental Receptionist to join our weekend NHS Urgent Dental Care team in Cambridge on an Ad-hoc basis.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients attending emergency appointments and will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome patients to the practice and manage check-in procedures
Handle telephone and in-person enquiries with professionalism and empathy
Schedule and manage urgent dental appointments
Ensure accurate completion of patient details and NHS forms
Support clinical staff with administrative needs to maintain efficient workflow
Process payments and assist with administrative record-keeping
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards
Liaise with the dental team to coordinate care and keep patient flow efficient

Requirements:

Previous Dental Reception experience in essential.
Confident communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Calm and compassionate, particularly when dealing with patients in discomfort or distress
