Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers, maintaining the organisation of the store, and supporting sales through effective merchandising and upselling techniques. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a dynamic retail environment. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Hindi, English, Bangladeshi, is highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to contribute to a welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in a professional manner
Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the store, ensuring products are well displayed and easily accessible
Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and according to company standards
Engage with customers through effective communication skills, including upselling relevant products or services
Handle transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including processing payments and issuing receipts
Provide information about products, promotions, and store policies clearly and courteously
Manage stock levels by monitoring inventory and reporting low stock items promptly
Assist in organising store layout changes or promotional displays as required
Utilise organisational skills to ensure efficient time management during busy periods
Assisting with weekly deliveries.

Requirements

Fluency in English and other languages is advantageous
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette and customer interaction
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock management
Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Experience in merchandising or retail sales is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when required
Good time management skills to ensure all duties are completed efficiently during shifts
Friendly demeanour with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Pay: £500.00-£550.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Camberley GU15 3JA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
