Business Development Executive

To pro-actively hunt for new business, act as a BSRIA ambassador and drive the commercial growth of BSRIA's Occupant Insights service (Building Occupants Wellbeing) by developing new business opportunities across the UK commercial property sector. The role is responsible for acquiring new clients, building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and positioning BSRIA as the trusted independent provider of occupant feedback, portfolio benchmarking and building performance intelligence. This role forms part of our commitment to developing and promoting talent from within. As a Business Development Executive, you will follow a transparent progression pathway from BDE to Senior BDE to a long-term career path of Business Development Manager.

Lead Generation and Sales:

Generate leads through outreaching to over 10,000 occupied buildings in the UK,

research and cold outreach a variety of roles

Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients
Lead proposals, and negotiations with prospective clients
Convert leads into orders to achieve sales targets

Customer Relationship Management:

Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with existing and new clients and maintain records using the company CRM tools
Ensure all potential business is discovered and closed
Understand client requirements and provide solutions that align with business offerings and operational capabilities
Act as the main point of contact for clients during the sales process

Strategic Planning:

Gather feedback and communicate findings to management and product owner
Work closely with marketing, product, and other sales teams to align business

development efforts with overall company goals

Support the execution of strategic initiatives and business plans

Reporting and Analysis:

Deliver regular reporting against activity, opportunity and revenue KPIs with the use of systems, AI and technologies to improve the efficiency and productivity in the role

Quality:

Adhere to corporate and quality policies and where new or modified versions are

required, engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organisation.

Any other duties commensurate with the role

To be considered for the Business Development Executive role

Target-oriented with proven track record of exceeding sales targets

Genuinely AI-native, uses AI tools daily in their own workflow, not just aware of
them
Negotiation and Persuasion Skills
Self-motivated, adaptability and flexibility
Time Management and Organisational Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present
and negotiate at all levels
Exceptional networking and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to identify business challenges and develop pragmatic solutions that meet
client needs.
Experience working collaboratively across departments to achieve business goals.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role,
preferably within construction
