Full job description

Part-Time Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper

Whitmee Communications · Lancaster · 21 hours per week · £15 per hour

Whitmee Communications is an IT and Telecoms provider based in Lancaster. This is a new position. Until now the bookkeeping and office administration have been absorbed by the team alongside their main work, and it has reached the point where it needs someone of its own.

The work

The bookkeeping side covers sales and purchase invoices, credit control, bank reconciliations, and preparing the quarterly VAT return.

The administrative side is the general running of the office: answering enquiries by phone and email, managing correspondence and records, ordering supplies, and providing day-to-day admin support to the team.

What we're looking for

Bookkeeping experience within a small business, and confidence working in Xero. Accuracy matters a great deal here, so the ability to check your own work and flag anything that looks wrong is essential. An AAT qualification would be welcome but is not a requirement; demonstrable experience counts for more.

We'd also value someone comfortable managing their own priorities and discreet with confidential financial information.

Terms

£15 per hour, 21 hours per week
15 days' annual leave pro rata, plus bank holidays
Workplace Pension
The hours can be split between 3-5 working days
