Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. This vital role involves safely operating a heavy goods vehicle, specifically a chain loader & hook loader, to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. As a key member of our transportation operation, you will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV), with a focus on skip deliveries and collections
Load and secure skips onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety compliance
Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules and optimize efficiency
Conduct pre vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs and manifests
Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies during driving operations

Experience

Experience as a commercial driver, particularly with skip loaders/hook loaders/tippers or similar HGVs
Valid HGV Class 2 driving license
Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
Ability to handle physical tasks related to loading/unloading safely and efficiently

Requirements

Cat C driving license
Certificate of Professional Competence
Valid Digital Tachograph card
Minimum 2 years experience
