Job Summary

Isca Medical Centre is looking for a Salaried GP or GP Retainer to join our friendly, supportive and award-winning team in Caerleon.

We are a well-established practice with modern facilities, a strong administrative team and clear systems in place to support safe, effective working. We are looking for a GP who is clinically safe, compassionate, practical and able to work well as part of a wider team.

This role would suit a GP looking for a supportive environment with a fair division of work, a well-managed workload, low home visit volume and strong reception and admin support.

Main duties of the role

The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and patient-centred care to the practice population.

Main duties will include:

Face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations
Assessment and management of acute and long-term conditions
Safe prescribing in line with local and national guidance
Reviewing pathology results, clinical letters and discharge summaries
Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services
Supporting urgent and routine clinical care
Completing clinical administration in a timely way
Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web
Supporting safeguarding processes for children and adults at risk
Working with the wider clinical and non-clinical team
Contributing to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement
Undertaking home visits where clinically necessary

Experience

The role is suitable for a qualified GP with experience in UK general practice, or a GP Retainer looking for a supportive and well-managed practice environment.

The successful candidate should have:

GMC registration and inclusion on the GP performers list
Strong clinical judgement and safe prescribing practice
Good communication skills with patients and colleagues
Ability to work as part of a wider clinical and administrative team
A practical, compassionate and patient-centred approach
Good time management and ability to complete clinical admin safely
Commitment to quality improvement, governance and safe patient care
