Location of Role: Chelmsford

Starting Salary: £63,879.00 (pro-rata for part-time vacancies)

Part/Full Time: Full Time

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Mon-Fri

Weekend/Evening Working: No

Provide financial expertise, analysis, and support to senior managers and budget holders. Ensure accurate and timely financial information for decision-making and protect the Force's financial viability.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver financial expertise and analysis to senior managers, budget holders, and service users.
Contribute to strategic management, policy formulation, and business planning.
Support financial planning, reporting, performance monitoring, and identify efficiency savings.
Develop and maintain financial management systems, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
Act as deputy for the Head of Financial Performance and Reporting, delivering in-year revenue monitoring.
Lead and motivate the Management Accountants team, overseeing recruitment, performance reviews, and development.
Attend strategic corporate meetings and support ad hoc projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Consultive Comittee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) level or equivalent professional body (Level 7 diploma and master's degree), representing a professionally qualified accountant.
At least 3 years post-qualification experience supporting the delivery of the functional responsibilities of this role.

Office based Agile Worker

Office based agile working with designated team area. Works predominantly (60% or more) in one office space. The rest of the time works at home or at other police site locations.

The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual’s suitability for home working. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace.
