Full job description

We are looking for a passionate, reliable and talented Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for managing your designated section, preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to the required standards, and supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for food, excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of your designated kitchen section.
Prepare, cook and present dishes consistently to the required standards.
Complete all mise en place efficiently and to specification.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
Ensure your section is fully prepared before each service.
Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver smooth and efficient service.
Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements promptly.
Ensure all food is stored, labelled and rotated correctly.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
Follow all HACCP and food safety procedures.
Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
Support and assist other sections when required.
Help train and mentor Commis Chefs and junior kitchen team members.
Contribute ideas for new dishes, menus and improvements to kitchen operations.
Remain calm, professional and organised during busy service periods.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or in a similar professional kitchen role.
Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
A positive, professional and hardworking attitude.

Desirable:

Professional culinary qualifications.
Experience in a high-quality restaurant, hotel or gastropub.
Experience working across multiple kitchen sections.
Knowledge of current food trends and seasonal produce.
