About The Organisation

The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients

In this key role, you will:

Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.

To maintain effective communications with patients, relatives and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that appropriate information is shared and patient needs are met.

To work within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the Department, Directorate, Division and Professional Bodies and report outcomes to senior staff to enable monitoring of standards of care

Be fully conversant with the NMC/HPC & AODP Codes of Professional Conduct and other relevant documents, which support and maintain standards of professional practice for nurses, midwives and operating department practitioners.

To supervise less experienced staff/students who are providing care to patients and act as a source of advice to ensure their educational needs are met.

To organise own workload/use own initiative to ensure that the interests of patients are met.

What You'll Bring:

Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration/ SVQIII in Operating Department Practice/Diploma in Operating Department Practice

The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative

Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Excellent time management skills

Working knowledge of basic information technology
