.Structural Steel Erector / Site Fitter

Location: Lawford, Essex (working on sites across Essex, Suffolk, London and surrounding areas)

Job Summary

Stour Engineering LLP is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Erector / Site Fitter to join our growing team.

The role involves installing structural steelwork and architectural metalwork on a variety of commercial and residential projects. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works safely, and is happy working as part of a small, professional team.

Responsibilities

Install structural steelwork including beams, columns, bracing and secondary steelwork.
Fit staircases, balustrades, handrails and other architectural metalwork.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and site drawings.
Carry out site drilling, bolting and occasional site welding where required.
Use Genie lifts, MEWPs and other lifting equipment safely.
Work alongside site managers and other trades to complete installations efficiently.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Keep work areas clean, organised and safe.
Complete work within agreed programme times.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Structural Steel Erector or Site Fitter.
Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
Experience using hand and power tools.
CSCS card (essential).
IPAF, PASMA, CPCS Slinger/Signaller or Telehandler tickets would be an advantage but are not essential.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to work away occasionally if required.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
