Full job description

Part-Time Optical Assistant

We’re looking for a friendly, organised and approachable Optical Assistant to join our team.

This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, 9:00am–5:30pm. We’re a small, welcoming team and pride ourselves on creating a relaxed and friendly environment for both our patients and staff. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people and would like to become part of a nice place to work.

The Role

You’ll be one of the first points of contact for our patients and will help keep the practice running smoothly day to day.

Your main duties will include:

* Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient enquiries

* Booking patients in for sight tests and appointments

* Welcoming patients into the practice

* Helping customers choose frames that suit them

* Filing and maintaining patient records

* General reception and administrative duties

* Helping the team with the day-to-day running of the practice

Full training will be provided, so previous optical experience is preferred but not essential.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with customers

* Organised and reliable

* Able to work well as part of a small team

* Willing to learn and get involved

* Comfortable using computers and carrying out general administrative tasks

Minimum Requirements

* GCSE-level education or above

* Previous experience in hospitality, customer service or an administrative role

* Previous experience in optics would be an advantage, but is not required

Hours

3 days per week

9:00am – 5:30pm

This would suit someone looking for a friendly, customer-focused part-time role with a good working environment and the opportunity to learn more about the optical industry.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
