Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Power Generation - Hire and Service Manager to oversee the hiring, maintenance, and servicing of power generation equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead operations within a dynamic industry, ensuring the reliable performance of power systems across various projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating service activities, managing client relationships, and ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.

Duties

Oversee the hiring process for power generation equipment and personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Coordinate and supervise service activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of power generation units.
Utilise mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues with equipment and determine appropriate solutions.
Manage scheduling of service appointments and ensure timely delivery of services to clients.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment using hand tools and power tools to identify potential faults or maintenance needs.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, and equipment status for reporting purposes.
Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to optimise performance.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment for staff and clients alike.
Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on equipment selection and servicing options.
Manage inventory levels of spare parts and tools necessary for efficient operation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in power generation or related engineering fields.
Strong mechanical knowledge with practical experience in using hand tools and power tools.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Leadership qualities with previous experience supervising technical teams preferred.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or power systems are desirable.
A valid driving licence is preferred due to the travel requirements associated with the role.
