They are looking for an autonomous programmer to bridge the gap between their engineering design office and the shop floor.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join the manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programmes for various machining processes, focusing on milling, grinding, and precision tooling operations.
This role offers a hybrid engineering environment, combining hands-on machine setup and programming with design office planning tasks.
Duties:
Develop, test, and optimise CNC programmes for milling, grinding, and other machining operations using CAD/CAM software.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate programme creation.
Set up CNC machines with appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials, ensuring precise operation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs and improve manufacturing processes.
Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC machinery during programming and setup phases.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment to prepare workpieces for machining or assembly.
Conduct quality checks on machined components to ensure adherence to specifications.
Maintain detailed documentation of programmes, modifications, and machine settings for future reference
.Experience Required:
Proven experience in CNC programming with a focus on offline or hybrid environments.
Strong background in milling, grinding, and mechanical assembly techniques.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with CAM software is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with tooling selection, workshop mathematics for measurements, and precision measuring instruments.
Experience working with plastics materials or injection moulding processes is beneficial but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
