Support Worker – Bank Staff | Southampton | Progression Care
Location: Southampton
Job Type: Bank Position
Salary: £13.00 an Hour and £75 per sleep in
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
At Progression Care, we believe every moment holds the potential to support and empower the young people we work with. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping 16–18 year olds develop essential life skills, build confidence, and work toward independence.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll support young people in their daily routines – including attending social activities, pursuing hobbies and sports, managing household tasks like cooking and cleaning, and supporting with budgeting and appointments. Please note: this position does not involve personal care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent, positive support tailored to each young person’s individual needs
Encourage and assist with daily living skills
Support with leisure activities, education, employment, and social inclusion
Assist with household duties and day-to-day routines
Participate in a rota that includes weekends and sleep-in shifts

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 1 year experience working with vulnerable young people
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred (business insurance required)
Reliable, compassionate, and friendly nature
Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Willingness to complete necessary training and background checks
Right to work in the UK
Two professional references and one character reference
