Maths Teacher or Lead Maths Teacher

37.5 hours per week | 8am - 4pm, 38 weeks plus 3 weeks and 5 INSET days, a total of 42 weeks per year

Leith Hill School is seeking a dynamic Head of Numeracy to guide our Key Stage 3 and 4 learners through an engaging, inclusive, and holistic Maths curriculum. If you are an experienced and enthusiastic Maths teacher with a strong track record in delivering the GCSE curriculum, we invite you to become a part of our vibrant and growing SEN school, nestled in the breathtaking Surrey Hills.

About the Role

At Leith Hill School, we are seeking a dynamic and committed Head of Numeracy who is passionate about making a real difference. You will have the opportunity to thrive in a role that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

As a core member of our teaching team, you will:

Lead the strategic development of the Maths department
Deliver engaging and imaginative Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, including preparation for GCSEs.
Bring energy and creativity to your teaching, utilising innovative methods to inspire and motivate your students.
Support and mentor staff, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning
Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate exciting cross-curricular opportunities across subjects
Track, assess, and report on student progress, attainment, and engagement, contributing to termly internal and external reports shared with parents and governors

Our Ethos & Your Role Beyond the Classroom

As a teacher in our SEN setting, you will play a key role in nurturing the wellbeing and personal development of our pupils. Most staff lead a small tutor group of 6–8 students, supporting their social and emotional growth and embodying the school’s values and ethos each day.

While experience supporting autistic learners and knowledge of wider SEN would be advantageous, it is not essential. Full induction and ongoing training are provided as part of our commitment to professional excellence.
