About the role:

Horsham District Council is looking for casual workers to support The Capitol’s re-opening and provide excellent customer service to all visitors and patrons.

Due to the operational requirements of this role, team members may be required to work in all areas of The Capitol during busy periods which includes serving alcohol and supervising screenings of films classified as 18+. Therefore, applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Casual Customer Service Assistant:

Hourly Rate: Rate based on age for NMW-NLW

Job responsibilities overview: As Casual Customer Service Assistant you will provide excellent customer service to visitors to The Capitol, this will include scanning tickets, directing customers to seats and facilities around the building. You will maintain the cleanliness of the building at all times and supervise screenings and audiences during their visit to The Capitol. You also will be required to assist with the evacuation of the building in an efficient and safe manner. As a Casual Customer Service Assistant, you will assist the Duty Manager with admin tasks, such as poster changes, flyer distribution or any other duties on shift. On occasion, you will help with busy periods across all areas of the building, including the bar and box office when required.

Requirements: To succeed as Casual Customer Service Assistant, you will need excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt during a high-pressure environment. You will need to be able to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as part of this role.

Casual Box Office Assistant:

Hourly rate: £13.47

Job responsibilities overview: As a Casual Box Office Assistant, you will sell tickets and deal with large amounts of money, both over the phone and in person. You will provide excellent customer service to visitors to The Capitol, this will include scanning tickets, directing customers to seats and facilities around the building. You will maintain the cleanliness of the building at all times. You also will be required to assist with the evacuation of the building in an efficient and safe manner. As a Casual Box Office Assistant, you will assist the Duty Manager with admin tasks or any other duties on shift. On occasion, you will help with busy periods across all areas of the building, including the bar, cinema or theatre screenings when required.

Requirements: To succeed as a Casual Box Office Assistant, you will need you will need excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt during a high-pressure environment. You will need to be able to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as part of this role.

Casual Bar & Catering Assistant:

Hourly rate: £13.47

Job responsibilities overview: As Casual Bar & Catering Assistant you will provide excellent customer service to visitors to The Capitol, this will include directing customers to seats and facilities around the building. You will sell and serve refreshments to patrons, which will involve handling cash. You will maintain the cleanliness of the building at all times. You also will be required to assist with the evacuation of the building in an efficient and safe manner. As a Casual Bar & Catering Assistant, you will assist the Duty Manager and Bar Manager with admin tasks or any other duties on shift. On occasion, you will help with busy periods across all areas of the building, including the box office, cinema or theatre screenings when required.

Requirements: To succeed as a Casual Bar & Catering Assistant, you will need excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt during a high-pressure environment. You will need to be able to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as part of this role.

Casual Theatre Supervisor:

Hourly rate: £13.47

Job responsibilities overview: As a Casual Theatre Supervisor, you will provide excellent customer service to visitors to The Capitol, this will include scanning tickets, directing customers to seats and facilities around the building. You will supervise a team of volunteer stewards during live performances. As part of this role, you will report any issues or queries to the Duty Manager and assist them with admin tasks or any other duties on shift. You will maintain the cleanliness of the building at all times. You also will be required to assist with the evacuation of the building in an efficient and safe manner. On occasion, you will help with busy periods across all areas of the building, including the bar & box office when required.

Requirements: As Casual Theatre Supervisor, you will have experience of managing a team of individuals, excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt during a high-pressure environment. You will need to be able to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as part of this role.

Casual Duty Manager:

Hourly rate: £15.56

Job responsibilities overview: As a Casual Duty Manager,you will manage and support a team of staff on shift and therefore will have knowledge and understanding of all areas of the building, including the bar, box office and stewarding. You will provide excellent customer service to visiting companies and patrons at The Capitol and assist the Front of House Manager with admin tasks or any other duties on shift. You also will be required to assist with the evacuation of the building in an efficient and safe manner.

Requirements: As a Casual Duty Manager, you will have experience of managing a team of individuals, excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt during a high-pressure environment. You will need to be able to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as part of this role.
