About Us

We are a friendly Independent veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality care for our patients and excellent service for their owners. We are looking for a reliable, organised, and personable Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to join our team.

Role Overview
This is a varied role combining front-of-house reception duties with administrative support. The ideal candidate will be confident dealing with clients, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a busy environment. Additional skills in design or marketing is required, as the role will include supporting promotional and communication activities to our clients.

up to 40 hours per week with more hours available for covering holidays, sickness etc

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming clients and their pets, providing a warm and professional first impression
Managing appointments, phone calls, and email enquiries
Maintaining accurate records and updating the practice management system
Handling payments and general reception duties
Supporting the veterinary team with administrative tasks
Leading Marketing activities such as social media updates, newsletters, or promotional materials (if applicable)
Helping maintain a clean, organised, and efficient reception area

Requirements

Previous experience in an administrative and/or reception role
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Good IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar systems)
A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Marketing and Design skills (Canva)
Confident with all Social Media platforms

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in a veterinary or healthcare environment
