L2 Infrastructure Support Engineer

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: [Insert Salary Range]
Benefits: [Insert Benefits, e.g., Health, 401k, Paid Time Off]
About the Role
Are you a tech professional who loves the variety of handling both modern cloud desktop environments and local network hardware? We are looking for an L2 Infrastructure Support Engineer to serve as our onsite and remote technical anchor.
In this role, you won't just be closing basic helpdesk tickets—you will be the primary escalation point for resolving complex desktop issues, maintaining local site connectivity, and acting as the "remote hands" for our centralized Network Engineering team. If you thrive on troubleshooting everything from Microsoft Intune deployments to Cisco switch port configurations, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Advanced Desktop Support: Provide L2 troubleshooting for Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams, and OneDrive. Manage OS deployments, application delivery, and patching via Microsoft Intune/SCCM.
- Identity & Access Management: Troubleshoot Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) account permissions, group policies, and MFA issues.
- Local Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve site connectivity issues across Layer 1 (cabling, patch panels) and Layer 2 (VLAN assignments, port security lockouts).
- Network Hardware Support: Handle routine troubleshooting, terminal console diagnostics (PuTTY/TeraTerm), and physical replacement of edge/access hardware like Cisco Catalyst/Aruba switches and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).
- Data Center Operations: Provide vital "remote-hands" support in the local server room, including rack-and-stacking hardware, cable management, and link verification.
- Incident & Asset Tracking: Use ServiceNow to document incidents, map accurate site diagrams, and update local asset registers.
What We’re Looking For (Technical Skills & Qualifications)
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in an IT Infrastructure, Desktop Support, or Junior Network Administrator role.
- Endpoint Management: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and M365 administration.
- Networking Basics: Clear understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi networks, and client-to-site VPN troubleshooting.
- Switching Familiarity: Basic hands-on familiarity with Layer 2 concepts (VLANs, Trunking, LACP).
- Tools: Experience using ServiceNow (or similar ticketing systems) and terminal clients like PuTTY. Basic Wireshark packet capture skills are a plus.
Preferred Certifications (Not required, but a huge plus!)
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
- Microsoft MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator)
- ITIL Foundation
