Deputy Manager

We are looking for a deputy manager for a 3-bedded bespoke service that will provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems. The location is Derby, 4 miles south of the city centre, and the salary is £31,000 to £33,000

This is a Monday-to-Friday role, with some flexibility to meet the needs of home. You will be supported by a registered manager and an operations manager, giving you the opportunity for personal development and progression within the company.

About Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf Care provides exceptional care for children and young people across the UK, especially those who have faced trauma. We use the PACE model, which creates a safe, caring environment to help children feel secure and build positive relationships.

Our approach starts with the key worker, who forms a strong, trusting bond with the child. This relationship is essential for the child’s development and continues throughout their care.

We offer personalized care, education, and treatment led by a team of trained professionals, helping children manage their emotions and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.

There are currently 6 children’s homes open, 2 of these homes have their own school onsite. Bayleaf is expanding with more children’s homes on the horizon towards the end 2026 we are also opening 2 special schools, 2 leaving care homes and 3 CQC registered adult homes so are all our young people can remain in our care by transitioning into these services.

Each children’s home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.

About the home:

The home is based in Derby, 4 miles from the town centre. The home will be providing outstanding person-centred care to up to 6 adults with learning disabilities or mental health. The service is made up of 3 homes located next to each other, which have been renovated to a very high standard. Each adult will have their own personalised safe space as well as areas where they can socialise with others.

Job overview:

In order to provide the adults we serve with excellent person-centred care and support, the Deputy Manager will assist in leading and overseeing the home. You will be in charge of overseeing a group of employees to provide a secure, caring, and encouraging atmosphere, support the daily operations of the house, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

The Deputy Manager ensures that care plans are tailored to meet the individual needs of each adult, promotes their well-being and development, and fosters positive relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies. They are also accountable for managing safeguarding procedures, staff training, and promoting a culture of respect, safety, and empowerment within the home.
