General Manager – Heidi Bakery

Hello, we're Heidi Bakery - www.heidibakery.co.uk

We're looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead one of our bakery teams and help us keep raising the bar on what a high street bakery can be.

Heidi is an expanding bakery and coffee-shop brand with 8 stores across London, Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire - and growing. We bake everything from scratch in our Heidi Studio, using high-quality ingredients (many sourced from the continent) so our products truly stand out on the high street. From French pastries, pizzas and quiches to salads, speciality cakes and exceptional coffee - everything is freshly prepared and beautifully presented.

None of that happens without the right person leading the team on the ground. That's where you come in.

The Role

As General Manager, your first job is your people. You'll build a team that genuinely enjoys coming to work, that takes pride in what they make and serve, and that pulls together when the site is at its busiest. You'll set the tone every single day - energy, warmth, and standards start with you.

We want someone who:

Leads from the front and makes the team want to follow

Who You Are

A natural leader with a cheerful, welcoming personality
Experienced managing a café, bakery, or similar food & beverage operation
Confident with coffee and bakery service (preferred but not essential)
Strong communicator who can motivate and develop a team
Comfortable working early mornings and daytime shifts
Organised enough to keep a busy site running smoothly - without losing sight of the people side

The Day-to-Day (in brief)

Alongside leading your team, you'll oversee rota planning, stock, and front-of-house checks, and liaise with the Operations Manager to keep things running smoothly. This is a small but important part of the role - most of your time will be spent with your team and your customers.

Job Type: Full-time
