The role:
We are seeking a skilled Audio Typist to join our Urology team. You will provide a comprehensive audio typing and administrative support service to Urology Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists and junior medical staff, while also supporting the wider secretarial team.
This is a varied and rewarding role that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- This is a fixed-term post for 12 months
- You will be working part-time hours of 17.28 hours per week during office hours
- This post is based within Stobhill Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary

Key responsibilities:
You will be responsible for accurately and efficiently transcribing medical reports, clinical correspondence and other documentation from audio recordings, ensuring a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Urology team, assist the wider secretarial service, and provide occasional support to the general administrative team as required. You will be expected to manage and prioritise your own workload using your initiative to ensure typing is completed within agreed performance targets, while maintaining excellent standards of patient care and confidentiality.

Excellent audio typing skills with a high level of speed and accuracy.

Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Previous experience working as an audio typist within an NHS or healthcare setting.

Experience of using hospital or clinical information systems.
