The Opportunity
Cricket St Thomas is growing. Following the recent acquisition and successful reopening of Cricket St Thomas Country Inn (formerly The Windwhistle Inn), we're looking for an organized, personable and highly computer-literate Business Support Manager to work closely with our Director across both the Golf Club and Country Inn.
At the heart of this role is first-class administration. We're looking for someone who is exceptionally organised, has strong IT skills and takes real pride in keeping systems, information and processes accurate and up to date. You'll take ownership of memberships, events administration, business systems and marketing support across both venues.
This is a varied role that combines strong administration with regular contact with customers, members and colleagues across both venues. You'll need to be confident managing competing priorities, following tasks through to completion and supporting the Director with projects and the smooth running of the business.
The Highlights
- Healthy Lifestyle: Free Golf & Gym Membership.
- Growth: Join two ambitious local businesses at an exciting stage of development.
- Variety: Work across both the Golf Club and Country Inn, with a genuinely varied workload.
- Development: The opportunity to broaden your skills and grow with a successful, family-owned business.
What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with the Director, you'll take responsibility for a wide range of day-to-day business operations and administration across our two hospitality and leisure venues.
- Maintaining well-organised administrative systems, records, documents and follow-up processes across both venues.
- Managing enquiries relating to events, golf memberships, gym memberships and general business enquiries.
- Managing golf and gym membership administration, including new memberships, monthly payments and annual renewals.
- Managing the complete event booking journey - from initial enquiry and customer show-rounds through to payment, final details and post-event feedback.
- Building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, sponsors and business partners.
- Supporting marketing activity across our websites, social media and member communications.
- Creating and updating posters, menus and promotional material using Canva or similar software (training can be provided).
- Maintaining EPOS systems, including menus, pricing and promotional activity.
- Supporting accounts and HR administration as required.
- Helping the Director and wider management team deliver business improvements, new initiatives and operational projects.
- Keeping administrative processes organised, accurate and up to date across both venues.
- Being willing to learn our systems and, occasionally, help with bar or event shifts when the needs of the business require it.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Exceptionally organised, with excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable juggling different priorities and following things through to completion.
- Highly confident using Microsoft Office and other business software, with strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A strong administrator who takes pride in accurate records, well-organised systems and completing tasks properly and on time.
- Friendly, approachable and professional with customers, members, suppliers and colleagues.
- An excellent communicator, both in person and over the telephone.
- Calm under pressure and able to use initiative to solve day-to-day problems.
- Positive, hardworking, adaptable and willing to support colleagues across both venues when required.
- Open to learning, feedback and continuous improvement.
- Flexible about working hours and willing to work weekends and evenings when functions, events or staff cover require it.
Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in golf, hospitality or leisure, ideally in a role involving strong administration, events, memberships or customer service. However, the most important qualities are exceptional organisation, strong IT and administrative skills, sound judgement and a positive, professional approach.
