Full job description

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Team Leader - Cleaning to oversee daily cleaning operations across various facilities. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of cleaning staff, ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Your leadership will inspire team members to deliver exceptional service while adhering to safety protocols and quality benchmarks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, fostering a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities, ensuring all tasks meet established standards of quality and safety.
Lead, motivate, and support cleaning staff, providing clear instructions, training, and performance feedback.
Conduct regular inspections of work areas to verify cleanliness, safety compliance, and proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
Enforce health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with management to develop improvement plans for cleaning processes and implement best practices across teams.
Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
Clean and disinfect restrooms, kitchens, laboratories and communal areas to high standards

Skills

Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles, with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and standards.
Previous leadership experience in a supervisory or team leader capacity within a cleaning or facilities management environment.
Knowledge of hospital or healthcare facility cleaning protocols is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively lead teams, provide training, and liaise with management.
Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage supplies, schedules, and documentation accurately.
Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to enforce compliance consistently.
