Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry preparation, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail in their work. As a baker, you will be responsible for producing high-quality laminated pastries, sourdough and other baked goods.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive delicious and visually appealing treats.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and sourdough breads according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed in the kitchen.
Assist in the development of new pastry recipes and menu items, contributing creative ideas to enhance the pastry offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry station, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Participate in food preparation for special events or catering orders as required.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a baker or pastry cook in a bakery/cafe or similar culinary environment.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation methods, and culinary principles.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both presentation and execution.
A passion for culinary arts with a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
