Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours in a care home environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives by ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. As a Night Care Assistant, you will work closely with the team to deliver personalized care plans, respond promptly to residents' needs, and maintain a calm and reassuring presence during your shift. Your energy, communication skills, and attention to detail will be vital in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

Duties

Monitor residents overnight to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times
Respond promptly and effectively to residents’ calls for assistance or emergencies
Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
Conduct regular checks of the premises, including bedrooms and communal areas, to identify any issues or hazards
Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and any care provided using IT systems
Communicate clearly with team members during handovers to ensure continuity of care
Support residents’ emotional needs by providing companionship and reassurance during the night

Skills

Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with residents and team members
Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately and compassionately
Good IT skills for recording observations and updating care records electronically
Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting home care visits or transportation needs
Experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Excellent observational skills to identify changes in residents’ health or behavior
Reliable, patient, and able to work independently during overnight shifts
