Job: Executive Personal Assistant to GMFRS Executive Board

Salary: £34,434 to £38,220 per annum

Hours: Full time (36.25 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Swinton

Your role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for An experienced Executive Personal Assistant to join the team at our Headquarters in Swinton. We seek a confident and driven individual with proven knowledge and experience to support the Executive Board. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own and other’s work and time. A flexible approach to work is key with an appreciation of working as part of a team. In addition, it is important that you are able to effectively liaise and communicate with a range of individual and departments at all levels.

About you:

You will be keen to develop your knowledge and experience in a fast-moving and exciting environment. Your skills can make a real difference to the work of the GMFRS, so join us and we will support you in fulfilling your own potential too.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you:

PA and general administration experience at a senior executive level
Qualified to NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent in role experience
Experience of organising meetings, agenda and minutes at an executive level
Conflict resolution and dealing with difficult situations
Managing filing and/or cataloguing systems
Experience of undertaking desktop research
Working to deadlines and under pressure in a senior executive environment
Some experience of working in a political environment
Ability to learn and have an understanding of GMFRS and its Directorates in order to effectively support all Executive Board members
Understanding in general terms of the role of elected mayors and combined authorities
Knowledge and awareness of the role of GMFRS and how it links with the GM Elected Mayor, GMCA and the Greater Manchester Strategy
