ROBOTIC HERD ASSISTANT / CALF REARER / GENERAL FARM WORKER
We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team at Watson Hill Farm.
We are a progressive 500-cow pedigree Holstein dairy farm, operating a modern robotic milking system with a strong focus on herd health, welfare and performance.
All our youngstock are reared on farm, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience across all areas of the dairy enterprise.
THE ROLE
This is a varied, hands-on position involving:
- Robotic milking system and herd duties
- Calf rearing and youngstock management
- Feeding and caring for livestock
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- General dairy and farm work
- Machinery and other farm duties as required
You’ll be working alongside an experienced team in a modern, well-equipped dairy unit, with good staff facilities and a friendly working environment.
PAY & EMPLOYMENT
Competitive rate of pay, depending on experience and ability.
The position can be offered on either an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the candidate and their preferred arrangement.
We are happy to discuss the hours and payment structure with the right person.
HOURS
Tuesday – Thursday: 6.30am – 5.30pm
Plus alternate weekends:
- 6.30am – 10.00am
- 4.00pm – 6.00pm
Hours are negotiable, and we would consider someone looking for either more or fewer hours for the right person.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Previous dairy or farming experience would be preferred, but is not essential. Full training will be given to the right candidate.

In possession of a full driving licence
