Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Landscaper/Gardener to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in landscape maintenance and horticulture, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening and outdoor work. The role involves assisting with various landscaping tasks, supporting the team in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, and developing practical skills in horticultural practices.

Responsibilities

Assist with planting, pruning, and watering plants to ensure healthy growth
Operate hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes to carry out garden maintenance
Use power tools safely for tasks like edging, trimming, and lawn mowing
Help with the installation of new garden features and landscape elements
Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing debris and organising tools and materials
Support the team in general landscape upkeep including fertilising and weed control
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during outdoor activities

Skills

Basic knowledge of gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance practices
Experience or interest in working with hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions from experienced team members
Growing experience or a keen interest in horticulture is desirable
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintaining outdoor spaces
Physical fitness to undertake outdoor tasks which may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Enthusiasm for working outdoors in various weather conditions
