Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Support Worker to provide high-quality assistance and support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and independence of clients by delivering personalised care tailored to their individual needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through attentive and respectful support.

Duties

Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
Support with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional requirements are met and dietary restrictions are adhered to.
Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
Provide specialised care for clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments, employing behaviour management techniques as necessary.
Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Support clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring as required, ensuring safety at all times.
Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, adhering to all safety protocols.
Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns promptly to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
Follow all health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when needed, to ensure a secure environment.

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living or home care environments is highly desirable.
Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards clients of all ages.
Knowledge of care home procedures, learning disabilities and autism support is advantageous.
Ability to handle behavioural challenges with sensitivity and professionalism.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Basic first aid certification is preferred; willingness to undertake training if necessary.
Valid driving licence for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred.
Good communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
Physically capable of heavy lifting and assisting clients with mobility needs safely.
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings ,night or weekends if required.
