Full job description

Care is Central is looking for Care Assistants to join our growing team at our recently opened care home, Honeysuckle House, in Flitwick.

What are we offering:

A brand new, purpose built care home setting within our care village, Red Kite Meadows
Full time (36 hours per week) and Part Time (24 hours per week) roles available
£13.04 per hour hour rising to £13.23 on completion of probation (4 months)
12-hour shift patterns from 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am
33 days annual leave per year PLUS your birthday off as paid leave

About Honeysuckle House:

Honeysuckle House is a brand-new, purpose-built 72-bed residential care home located within Red Kite Meadows, a state-of-the-art care village in Flitwick, Bedfordshire and developed in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council.

You will be joining a supportive care team, led by hands-on management who will provide you with a comprehensive induction and ongoing training programme. Join us on our mission to serve the people of Central Bedfordshire by helping them, treating them well, and providing the best possible care and support.

Main Duties of a Care Assistant:

Providing compassionate and dignified personal care (bathing, dressing, continence care etc.)
Light domestic duties to help around the home and ensure a safe and comfortable environment
Support individuals to access the community and local facilities
Assisting with moving and handling including the use of equipment such as hoists (training provided)
Providing emotional support and companionship to those in our care
Liaising with healthcare professionals and families regularly to provide updates, seek healthcare treatments or follow up on any concerns
To follow individual care plans, ensuring that all needs are met according to established guidelines and to regularly feedback to the Team Leader when updates are required.
Being resilient, attentive, and ensuring our residents are treated with the dignity and care they deserve
To work positively within the team and be a can-do, pro-active contributor who can support their colleagues

What we need from you:

As a values-based employer, we do not need you to have previous experience in a professional caring role, though it would be beneficial, as would any personal experience you may have provided care for others.

What is important to us is that you share our values, have a passion for helping others, can work positively within a team (even when things aren't easy!) and bring joy and laughter to the role, both with those we support and those we work with.

We also need you to:

Be eligible to work in the UK (Please note we do not offer Sponsorship)
Have strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
A caring nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Undertake an Enhanced DBS check (Paid for by us)
