The Opportunity
As our Head of Legal Practice, you'll provide strategic legal leadership while ensuring the firm continues to meet the highest regulatory and professional standards.
Working alongside the senior leadership team, you'll shape how we deliver legal services, improve quality, manage legal risk, develop our people and raise standards across the business.
You'll have the autonomy to influence key decisions, embed best practice, challenge constructively and create an environment where exceptional client service is simply how we operate.
You'll also work closely with the wider leadership team to support sustainable growth while ensuring legal excellence remains at the heart of everything we do.

How You'll Make an Impact
As our HOLP, you'll:
- Lead the firm's legal and regulatory compliance as the appointed Head of Legal Practice (HOLP).
- Set the standard for legal excellence, ensuring compliance with CLC requirements and professional obligations.
- Shape the firm's legal governance, policies and risk management framework.
- Drive continuous improvement across legal operations, quality assurance and client outcomes.
- Provide expert legal guidance and strategic advice to colleagues across the business.
- Develop, coach and inspire a high-performing legal team, creating an environment where people can thrive.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Lead regulatory audits, manage legal risk and oversee complaints where required.
- Partner with senior leaders to improve operational performance, support sustainable growth and deliver an outstanding client experience.
- Help shape the future direction of Chapter Law through strong leadership, sound judgement and a commitment to excellence.
About You
You're an experienced legal leader who combines exceptional technical expertise with a genuine passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
You enjoy influencing positive change, making sound commercial decisions and creating an environment where colleagues can perform at their very best.
You'll bring:
- Eligibility to act as a CLC Head of Legal Practice (HOLP).
- Significant experience in residential conveyancing.
- Proven leadership experience within a legal environment.
- Excellent knowledge of CLC regulation, compliance and risk management.
- Strong commercial awareness with sound judgement.
- The confidence to influence, support and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing others.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
