The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and values-led Locality/Registered Manager to lead our Supported Living and Community Support services across York and the surrounding area.
Working alongside our Service Managers and a dedicated team of Support Workers, you will ensure that adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support needs receive safe, responsive and genuinely person-centred support.
You will also be an important member of Avalon’s Senior Management Team, contributing to organisational priorities and helping to shape the future development of our services.
What you’ll be responsible for
As Locality/Registered Manager, you will:
- Provide visible, effective and compassionate leadership across the Locality/Registered.
- Maintain high standards of service quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure services remain person-centred and focused on each individual’s choices, rights and desired outcomes.
- Lead, support and develop Service Managers and their teams.
- Maintain effective oversight of safeguarding, risk management, incidents and service improvement.
- Build positive relationships with the people we support, families, colleagues and partner organisations.
- Work constructively with local authorities, NHS commissioners and other professionals.
- Promote Avalon’s services and build on our strong reputation across the local community.
- Contribute to the wider leadership and strategic development of Avalon Group.
What we’re looking for
You will need:
- Management-level experience within a social care environment.
- A strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, CQC requirements and adult social care standards.
- Experience of leading, motivating and developing teams.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Sound judgement and the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
- Excellent organisational and IT skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- A relevant Level 5 qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
