Full job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role:

To support effective clinical care by providing an efficient Health Records service to patients in a ward environment. You will ensure patients' health records are administered and processed accurately while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Band 2 roles are not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This post is permanent, working full-time hours
These hours will be worked Monday/Tuesday 8am - 4pm, Wednesday 8am - 2pm, Thursday/Friday 8am - 4pm
This is a Greater Glasgow and Clyde-wide post and the successful candidate may be required to work at any location across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The initial base for this post will be Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Key responsibilities:

You will provide Health Records support across multiple wards as required, ensuring patient records are administered accurately and confidentially. Duties include welcoming and receiving patients, answering telephone enquiries, booking appointments, maintaining patient demographic information on the patient management system, and providing efficient administrative and reception support to ensure the smooth running of ward services.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Previous clerical and/or reception experience is essential.
Experience of working with the general public in a customer service environment is essential.
Good organisational skills.
Good keyboard skills.
Good communication skills.
Proficient in the use of computer systems.
