Medical Administrator, Band 3 (26 hours a week)

Are you looking for a rewarding role within the NHS and thrive in a challenging environment? If so, a position as a Medical Administrator could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are seeking a dedicated and professional individual to provide an efficient, confidential, and high-quality secretarial service to the Acute/Neonatal Clinical Team. This role involves delivering essential administrative and secretarial support to facilitate patient care. Strong communication skills are key, as the post-holder will liaise with parents, relatives, general practitioners, and other hospital staff to ensure a seamless and effective service for both patients and clinicians.

As part of the wider Administrative Team, the post-holder will report to the Administration Lead and contribute to the smooth running of the service.

Hours: 26 hours per week

Days: Monday to Friday

As a Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for managing Consultants' correspondence, audio typing, handling patient queries, and liaising with other healthcare professionals. This role requires initiative, decision-making skills, and efficiency to deliver a comprehensive administrative service.

Key Skills and Experience Required:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent command of English, punctuation, and grammar.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.

Strong IT skills to ensure efficient use of hospital computer systems.

Accurate and proficient audio typing skills.

A professional and confident telephone manner.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Flexibility to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

Sound judgement and initiative to handle tasks independently when required.

If you like to be kept busy, enjoy variety and have good attention to detail whilst under pressure, then you could be the person we are looking for to enable us to deliver an excellent service.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated secretary, who is committed, demonstrate loyalty and are prepared to work hard when necessary to complete all tasks required. Experience in the NHS is desirable, but a willingness to learn and be adaptable is essential.

The post-holder will work as part of the Administration Team, reporting to the Administration Lead.
