Job Summary

Join our team as a Kennel Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication and hard work will help create a safe, clean, and caring environment for our guests. In this vital role, you will assist with daily kennel operations, ensure the well-being of animals, and support the overall health and hygiene of the facility. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will contribute to providing exceptional care for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in animal care and veterinary practices.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, and all areas to promote a healthy environment for animals
Assist with feeding, watering, and administering basic care under supervision
Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report observations promptly
Support staff with laboratory tasks such as sample collection or processing when needed
Help with daily activity routines including exercise, enrichment, and socialization of animals
Ensure proper documentation of animal health records and incident reports
Support the overall organization of the facility by restocking supplies and managing waste disposal efficiently

Requirements

Previous Kennel experience or familiarity with animal health practices is highly preferred
Laboratory experience is a plus, especially related to handling all animals in a safe manner.
Strong passion for animal welfare with a caring and attentive demeanor
Ability to work in a physically active environment, including standing, bending, and lifting moderate loads
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
Reliable, detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to safety and cleanliness
