About Wriggle Marketing

Wriggle Marketing is a Newcastle-based B2B digital marketing agency. We work exclusively with manufacturing and engineering businesses across the UK, helping them with lead generation through digital mediums such as; website development, PPC and SEO.

The role

We're looking for a B2B Appointment Setter / Lead Generator to bring in new business meetings. This is a new business role, not account management. You'll be the first point of contact for prospective clients, and your job is to get qualified conversations in the diary for the business directors.

You'll work from a target list of UK based B2B engineering and manufacturing businesses, reaching out predominantly by phone, LinkedIn and email, to book appointments with the right decision makers. You'll also support our brochure mailouts, helping make sure they land with the right type of business.

Who we're targeting

Our ideal customer is a UK based B2B engineering or manufacturing business, typically £5m to £60m turnover, who either doesn't have a website that reflects the quality of their work, scale of their operations or, isn't generating enough leads from PPC and SEO. Decision makers are usually the MD, Sales Director or Marketing Manager. Part of this role is learning to spot the difference between a business that's a genuine fit and one that isn't, so we're not wasting time on the wrong conversations.

Key responsibilities

Prospecting and targeting Identify the right type of business to approach - B2B engineering and manufacturing companies who need a new website, PPC or SEO. Build and maintain a target list using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other research tools.

Cold calling Call prospects from the target list to introduce Wriggle and identify need. Handle objections confidently and know when to push and when to move on.

LinkedIn outreach Reach out to decision makers on LinkedIn, build genuine connections and start conversations that lead to meetings.

Appointment booking Book qualified discovery calls and meetings into the directors' diary. Quality matters more than quantity - we want the right prospects, not just a full calendar. You'll earn £50 for every qualified meeting that's held (not just booked), on top of your base salary. Target is 2 qualified meetings a week once you're up to speed (allow a 3-6 month ramp-up period), alongside weekly activity targets for calls made and connections requested, agreed once you're settled in.

CRM and reporting Log all activity in the CRM. Track calls made, connections requested, conversations had and meetings booked, so we can see what's working.

Brochure mailouts Support the brochure mailout process by making sure the list is built around businesses that fit our ideal customer profile, so it lands with the right people rather than a scattergun list.

What we're looking for

Experience in a telesales, business development or appointment setting role, ideally B2B
Confident on the phone and not put off by rejection
Comfortable using LinkedIn for outreach and research
Resilient and consistent - this role involves a high volume of outbound calls each day, and success comes from sticking with it
Good written English for LinkedIn messages and email follow ups
Organised, with the discipline to work through a target list consistently
Interest in or willingness to learn about engineering and manufacturing sectors
Experience in a marketing or agency environment is a bonus, not essential

What Wriggle offers

Base salary of £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, plus £50 for every qualified meeting held, giving an OTE of £35,000-£40,000 + once you're hitting target consistently.
