The role

Are you passionate about helping people and delivering excellent customer experiences? We are looking for a resilient and customer-focused Customer Service Officer to join our busy and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a fast-paced service where no two days are the same. You will play a vital role in supporting customers, solving problems and making a real difference to people's experience of our services.

If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy working with people and can stay calm and professional under pressure, we would love to hear from you.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, providing advice, guidance and support across a wide range of enquiries and services. You will work across telephone, email and face-to-face channels, helping customers resolve issues quickly and efficiently while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Local Government Reorganisation

In April 2028 Local government in Kent is moving to a new unitary council structure. If you join us now, you will be employed by Gravesham Borough Council in the first instance, but staff are expected to transfer to the new organisation under TUPE arrangements in April 2028. This means your continuity of employment and existing terms and conditions will be protected.
