Full job description

The Adventure and Respite Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering The Cube's adventure programmes, holidays, respite breaks and overseas experiences. The role ensures every trip is safe, well-organised, person-centred and provides meaningful opportunities for the people we support to develop independence, confidence and life skills.

Working closely with families, support staff, local authorities and external providers, the coordinator will oversee all aspects of holiday and respite planning, from initial bookings through to successful delivery and post-trip evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
Holiday & Adventure Planning

Plan and coordinate all Cube holidays, adventure trips and respite breaks throughout the year.
Develop exciting UK and overseas travel opportunities.
Create annual holiday and adventure calendars.
Research new destinations, activities and accommodation.
Ensure all trips promote independence, inclusion and personal development.

Trip Coordination

Organise transport, accommodation, activities and travel documentation.
Complete bookings and liaise with external providers.
Produce detailed itineraries for staff and service users.
Ensure all required documentation is completed before departure.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Complete comprehensive risk assessments for all trips.
Ensure compliance with company policies, CQC standards and health and safety legislation.
Maintain emergency procedures and contingency plans.
Ensure medication, medical information and support plans are prepared before travel.

Staff Coordination

Allocate appropriate staffing for each trip.
Support the recruitment and organisation of holiday and respite staff.
Deliver pre-trip briefings and ensure staff understand individual support needs.
Provide on-call support during holidays where required.

Family & Professional Communication

Act as the main point of contact for families before, during and after holidays.
Communicate travel information, itineraries and updates.
Work alongside care managers, social workers and commissioners where appropriate.

Budget Management

Monitor holiday and respite budgets.
Obtain quotes and negotiate with suppliers.
Ensure trips remain cost-effective while maintaining high standards.
Record expenditure and submit financial reports.

Service Development

Identify opportunities to expand The Cube's adventure and respite services.
Develop new holiday packages and specialist adventure programmes.
Gather feedback from service users, families and staff to improve future trips.
Promote holidays and respite opportunities through social media and marketing.

Administration

Maintain accurate records of bookings, risk assessments and participant information.
Ensure travel insurance and required documentation are in place.
Produce reports on trip outcomes and service performance.
Keep holiday and respite calendars up to date.

Person Specification

Essential

Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Experience working within health and social care
Knowledge of CQC regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience coordinating activities, events or holidays.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred support.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel, including overnight and overseas trips.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
