We have an exciting opportunity for a Release and Transfer Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Brixton in London

Hours

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £45,331 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Release and Transfer Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment
provide care and planning for adult male prisoners from the point of reception until the day of release or transfer to another establishment
work collaboratively with the patient and any other agencies to support a safe transition back into the community/ other establishment

Qualifications required

Registered Adult Nurse
Evidence of implementation of local and national policies e.g. NICE guidance
Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly
Flexible attitude to working arrangements

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
