Live Order Packing Assistant

Part-Time / Casual | Bow / Hackney Wick, East London
£13.85 per hour | Typically 2–4 mornings per week

About Thrifted

Thrifted is one of the UK's leading online vintage clothing retailers, specialising in branded and one-off vintage fashion.

Alongside our online stores, we run regular live shopping sessions from our East London studio, selling vintage clothing directly through TikTok Live.

We're looking for one or two reliable people to join our studio team and take responsibility for getting the previous day's live orders packed and shipped quickly each morning.

This would suit a university student or someone looking for regular part-time morning work alongside other commitments.

The role

You'll normally arrive at our Bow / Hackney Wick studio at 8am, with around 4 hours of work each morning, usually finishing at approximately 12pm.

You can start earlier than 8am if that works better for you.

The main job is straightforward: when you arrive, the clothing sold during the previous live session will already be organised on rails. You'll match each item to its customer order, pack everything neatly into mail bags or boxes, process the shipments and get the orders ready for collection.

You'll be trusted to get on with the job independently and work through orders quickly and accurately.

Your typical morning will include:

Matching sold clothing from prepared rails to customer orders
Checking that the correct items are being sent to each customer
Packing orders neatly into mail bags and boxes
Processing orders for shipment
Preparing completed parcels for collection
Assisting when the TikTok collection driver arrives
Opening up and getting the studio ready for the day, including lights, windows and access
Helping the live presenter prepare their area and equipment for the day's live session
Keeping the packing and studio areas organised and tidy
Taking rubbish bins out as packaging materials accumulate
Breaking down cardboard boxes and keeping on top of cardboard recycling
Generally helping to keep the packing area clear, organised and ready for the next day's orders

You'll work alongside our existing team, who will generally be carrying out office and e-commerce duties while you're packing.

Hours

We're looking for 2–4 mornings per week, normally:

8:00am – 12:00pm

There is some flexibility to start earlier if preferred.

The exact finishing time depends on the number of orders. Some mornings may finish slightly earlier, while busier mornings may require an extra hour or so.

Mondays are particularly important as you'll be packing orders from across the weekend, so these shifts are typically around 4–5 hours.

We may recruit two people to cover the week, so please still apply if you can only commit to around two mornings per week.

This is intended to be a flexible/casual role. Very occasionally we may not run live sessions due to stock availability, presenter illness, holidays or other operational reasons, in which case there may not be a packing shift available the following morning.

Pay

£13.85 per hour, paid monthly.

Holiday entitlement will accrue in line with statutory requirements for the applicable employment arrangement.

A freelance arrangement may also be possible where appropriate depending on your circumstances and working arrangement.

Who we're looking for

You don't need previous warehouse or fashion experience. Reliability, speed and attention to detail are much more important.

You'll need to be:

Reliable and able to consistently arrive for an 8am start
Comfortable working independently without constant supervision
Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy
Computer literate and comfortable learning simple order/shipping systems
Organised with good attention to detail
Comfortable standing and packing for around 4–5 hours
Happy working in a busy but informal studio environment
Able to commute easily to Bow / Hackney Wick for early morning starts

Driving is also possible and parking can be arranged.

Who this could suit

This could be a particularly good role for a university student looking to earn extra money around lectures, or someone with afternoon/evening work who wants regular morning hours.

The role is concentrated into the morning, so once the day's orders are packed, shipped and the packing area is left organised, you're generally finished for the day.
