Business Development Manager

Part-Time | 3 Days Per Week | Monday, Tuesday & Thursday | 7 Hours Per Day | Commission Opportunity

Baywood Accounting Ltd is hiring an experienced, commercially minded BDM to win new clients and help take our growth to the next level.

We are a very human, personality-led practice, and we want our approach to business development to reflect that. We value making genuine relationships and are therefore not looking for someone whose preferred sales method is working through a cold-calling list.

Job Summary

This is a 10-month, fixed-term role created to support a defined three-stage growth phase within the business. The position is part-time, working 3 days per week at 7 hours per day, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a meaningful role that can fit alongside other commitments or professional interests.

The role has two clear objectives:

Win the new business needed to support this stage of our growth plan.
Build and implement the internal sales processes, systems and structure that will support future growth.

You will take the lead on business development, winning new clients and achieving the KPIs specifically set for this stage of our growth.

You will also have the opportunity to put your own stamp on a growing company, with full ownership of how we sell and the freedom to build the processes and systems that will support Baywood’s long-term growth.

Location

This is a proactive, hands-on role involving a considerable amount of time on the road throughout Hampshire. There will initially be some home-based working, transitioning to office-based working in Southampton once we move into our first rented office.

A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

Salary

£28 per hour, plus:

· £20 for every Discovery Call attended by a prospective client as a direct result of an appointment you have secured.

· 5% commission on the first year of fees for new clients brought into the practice through your business development activity.

· Pro-rated equivalent of 28 days’ annual leave

· Workplace pension in line with applicable auto-enrolment requirements

· Business mileage reimbursed at the applicable HMRC-approved mileage rate

· Company mobile phone

Roles and Responsibilities

· Win new clients

· Work towards agreed KPIs and sales targets

· Identify and proactively approach potential clients

· Build a strong network of contacts and referral partners

· Attend networking events

· Attend Discovery Calls alongside the Business Owner

· Follow up leads and enquiries

· Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing clients

· Research new markets, partnerships and routes to market

· Improve our sales processes and implement CRM practices

· Report on activity, opportunities and results

· Contribute to marketing and social media activity

Qualifications and Skills

You will have solid experience in business development and sales, ideally with responsibility for generating new business rather than simply converting inbound leads.

· A proven track record of growing a client base

· Confidence working towards targets

· Confidence speaking to business owners and decision makers

· A proactive approach to networking and creating opportunities to win clients

· A personable, approachable style and natural ability to build rapport

· An existing network of business contacts would be a real advantage
