Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accuracy Checking Dispensing Assistant to join our pharmacy team. We are offering two days a week, Fridays included. In this vital role, you will ensure the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing processes, supporting pharmacists in delivering exceptional patient care. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality will help maintain the highest standards of medication safety, compliance, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to patient well-being while working in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Verify prescriptions prepared by pharmacy technicians or dispensers for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing medications to patients
Conduct thorough checks on medication labels, dosages, patient information, and expiry dates to prevent errors
Assist in the preparation of medications under supervision, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
Support pharmacists in medication administration processes by confirming correct medication delivery and documentation
Maintain detailed records of all checks performed, discrepancies identified, and actions taken to ensure traceability and compliance
Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve any issues related to medication accuracy or patient safety promptly
Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all legal and regulatory standards governing pharmacy practice

Experience

Prior experience as a ACDA or in a similar medication dispensing role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is essential
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to follow precise instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy under pressure
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and medication safety protocols is a plus
