The Burtree Inn in Darlington is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our talented kitchen team!

The Burtree Inn is a well established family run pub renowned for serving high quality locally sourced and delicious meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional dining experience, and we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to help us to deliver this to our guests.

As a Commis Chef you will be working closely with our experienced Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and cook fresh seasonal dishes. You will play an essential role in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety, and assisting in food preparation cooking and plating.

Key Responsibilites:

- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard

- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines set by the Head Chef

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen

- Ensure food is stored and handled according to health and safety regulations

- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly during service

- Be eager to learn and develop new skills under the guidance of experienced chefs

The ideal candidate would possess

- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and develop in the culinary field

-Previous kichen experience is desirable but not essential - we are happy to train the right person!

- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and able to work under pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
