Let’s be honest: administration in the mobility & disable aids sector isn't for everyone. It’s fast, it’s high-pressured, and your "to-do list" will likely change three times before you’ve finished your morning coffee.
If you want to feel like you have made a difference helping people every day, this job is for you.
At TPG DisableAids, we’ve been a family-run business in Hereford since 1985. We don’t just sell equipment; we look after people’s independence. We’re looking for a permanent Administrator to predominantly take the lead on our flagship contract with Trivallis.
The Reality of the Role This isn’t a role where you sit back and wait for things to happen. You are the "Local Voice" for hundreds of tenants across South Wales. When a stairlift breaks or a hoist fails, it’s not just a technical glitch—it’s a vulnerable person losing their independence.
You’ll be the bridge between those tenants and our team, which includes five passionate, friendly South Wales-based engineers. Your job is to keep that bridge standing, and they will support you all the way. It’s a great team to be part of.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Intelligent Triage: You aren’t just a call-taker. Once you have grasped the role, we will teach you to use AI tools to help you "triage" faults over the phone. As the faults are often common, you will eventually be able to help a tenant flip a switch or reset a unit ourselves; by doing so, you’ve kept a person mobile, saved an engineer a trip, and kept the contract efficient. Full training and support will be given.
- The Logistics Puzzle: You’ll manage the diaries of our engineers working in that area. You will need to know or learn the geography of South Wales to ensure we aren’t zig-zagging across the valleys. The team is great and will help you as you get up to speed.
- The Compliance "Gatekeeper": We work with big names—Stannah, Handicare, Guldmann. You’ll be responsible for ensuring every service is completed on time, that certificates are uploaded correctly to the Trivallis portal, and that our asset register is accurate.
- Risk & Safeguarding: You’ll be our eyes and ears. If an engineer can’t get access, you follow the "3-call rule." If an engineer is lone-working and goes quiet, you’re the one who raises the alarm to make sure they’re safe.
Who we’re looking for We need someone who is unflappable. If you’re the type of person who panics when a schedule falls apart, you won’t enjoy this. But if you thrive on "organised chaos" and like the feeling of solving a problem under pressure, you’ll love it here.
- You’re level-headed: You can talk a frustrated tenant through a technical issue while keeping them calm.
- You’re a stickler for detail: Missing a LOLER inspection date isn’t an option. You need to care about the "boring" compliance bits as much as the people.
- You’re positive: We have a great team culture, and we want someone who adds to that, even on the busy days.
Why bother applying? The market is competitive, we know that. So, why TPG? We’re a family business, not a faceless corporation. You’re not a number here; we all help and support each other like a family. It’s a rewarding place to work.
Annual Leave: 20 days per year, plus 8 UK bank holidays, plus 2 additional days between Christmas and New Year — giving you a total of 30 days' paid leave annually.
The hours are 08:30–17:00, Monday to Friday. We do a Saturday morning shift (9am–1pm) once every five weeks, but we keep it fair and rotated.
A note on the "Trivallis" name: We’ve chosen to name the housing authority in this advert because this role is a partnership. You won't just be working for TPG; you’ll be the face of our commitment to Trivallis. It’s a big responsibility, and we want someone who is proud to own it.
Ready to help us keep things moving?
Caring for people, acting with Integrity, and being genuinely Professional — that's what this role is about, and that's what TPG is about.
