Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support Officer to join our technology team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for technical support within the organization, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and hardware. Your expertise will help maintain high levels of user satisfaction by resolving technical issues efficiently and providing exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across diverse IT environments, troubleshoot complex problems, and contribute to a resilient IT infrastructure that empowers our team to succeed.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive technical support to end-users across desktop, laptop, and mobile devices, ensuring timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
Manage and troubleshoot computer networking components including LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and switches to maintain secure and reliable connectivity.
Support operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux by installing updates, configuring settings, and resolving system conflicts.
Administer Active Directory for user account management, permissions, group policies, and password resets to ensure security compliance.
Utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for incident tracking, asset management, and service request fulfillment.
Maintain and troubleshoot server environments including Microsoft Windows Server and Linux servers to ensure optimal performance.
Assist with software troubleshooting across a variety of applications including Microsoft Office suite and other enterprise tools.
Configure and support network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, DNS settings, and LAN configurations to protect organizational data.
Document technical procedures clearly in knowledge bases or ticketing systems while communicating effectively with users at all levels.
Participate in proactive maintenance activities such as system updates, backups, hardware replacements, and network audits to prevent issues before they arise.

Experience

Proven experience in providing IT support within a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service excellence.
Hands-on knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux distributions.
Experience managing network infrastructure components like LANs, TCP/IP configurations, DNS management, VPN setup, firewalls, and switches.
Proficiency with Active Directory administration for user management and security policies.
Working knowledge of IT management tools such as SCCM for software deployment; ServiceNow or Jira for incident tracking; BMC Remedy for service requests.
Strong analysis skills to diagnose complex technical issues quickly and accurately while maintaining clear communication with users.
Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical staff.
