Gas Engineer – Service & Repairs – £37,500 to £45,000 + Great Benefits
East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire
Due to continued demand from our local customers, we’re expanding our small, skilled team at Kesselmann Plumbers Ltd and are looking for a Gas Engineer to focus primarily on servicing, fault-finding and repairs of domestic gas appliances, heating systems and plumbing systems.
With hundreds of 5-star Google reviews, Kesselmann is a trusted and well-respected local company with a loyal customer base across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys diagnosing problems, repairing appliances and systems, and leaving customers with a job properly sorted. You’ll work on a wide variety of domestic properties, carrying out gas appliance servicing, breakdowns, repairs and plumbing work.
We’re a small, close-knit team, so we’re looking for someone who is confident working independently, takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys dealing directly with customers.
What you’ll be doing
Your work will be primarily focused on service, diagnostics and repairs, including:
- Servicing and safety checking domestic gas appliances
- Diagnosing and repairing gas appliance faults
- Fault-finding on boilers, heating systems and controls
- Carrying out boiler and heating system repairs
- Identifying issues and explaining repairs clearly to customers
- Carrying out domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Diagnosing leaks, pressure issues and plumbing system faults
- Working on a variety of domestic heating and plumbing systems
- Completing jobs safely, professionally and to a high standard
- Keeping customers informed throughout the job
- Completing accurate job sheets and relevant paperwork
There may also be some installation and replacement work, depending on your skills and experience, but service and repair work will be the main focus of the role.
What we offer
- £37,500 – £45,000 salary, depending on experience and qualifications
- Additional salary uplifts for skills such as unvented, LPG and plumbing
- 4-day summer working week – June to September
- Work across East Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire
- Well-racked company van with quality van stock
- Company expense card covering fuel, tolls, materials, parking and van washes
- Uniform and specialist tools provided
- Bring your own preferred hand and battery tools
- Paid participation in a fair call-out rota
- A supportive, small-team environment where you’ll be known by name
- Opportunity to develop your skills and progress with a growing company
- A steady variety of domestic service, repair and maintenance work
- Work for a highly rated local company with hundreds of 5-star Google reviews
What we’re looking for
- Gas Safe registered – essential
- Experience servicing and repairing domestic gas appliances
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Confident working on domestic heating systems
- Plumbing experience would be highly advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable, professional and customer-focused
- Able to work independently and manage your own jobs
- Good communication skills and a professional approach in customers’ homes
- Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly rather than simply getting it working
- Adaptable and comfortable working as part of a small, hands-on team
Who this role would suit
This role would particularly suit an engineer who enjoys service and repair work more than installation work.
If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys arriving at a fault, working out what’s actually causing the problem, carrying out the repair and leaving the customer with a properly working system, we’d like to hear from you.
You don’t need to be an expert in every area. We’re interested in your existing skills and experience and can build the role around what you’re good at, with opportunities to develop further.
If you want to join a respected, growing and close-knit company where you’ll have plenty of variety, regular customer contact and the opportunity to become a key member of the team, we’d love to hear from you.
