Full job description

How you'll make a difference:

As an Administrator for the Business Support Team, you will provide detailed and accurate administration support to ensure that records and reports are up to date. Your work helps the wider Children, Adults and Health Department provide support to those in the community who may need it the most.

What you will be doing:

As the main point of contact for social care, you will provide administrative support to managers and ensure work carried out is efficient and procedures are effectively implemented.
You will deal with enquiries and information requests and interact with customers, colleagues and partners to maintain strong working relationships.
It will be your responsibility to collate and maintain records and analyse information to ensure accurate statements are produced and data is retrieved and interpreted from computerised systems.
Researching information within social care, you will collate evidence for presentation in reports. This may include drafting sections of documents for use by others.
You will escalate specific concerns, queries and issues and ensure they are accurately and promptly relayed where necessary.
It will be key for you to accurately record and assist in the monitoring and maintaining of budgets, financial information and resources.

What we need from you:

We require you to hold either an NVQ 2 or 3 GCSE’s grades C/ 4 or above, or have an equivalent qualification or relevant experience in office administration.
You will be able to take and type accurate minutes of meetings, with the skill to format documents to a high standard.
It is essential that you can communicate effectively with customers, professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media such as email, phone and face to face.
You will have great IT skills and know its practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintaining computerised record systems.
Given the elements of the role, you will have experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing data and presenting findings, together with basic financial procedures e.g. petty cash, invoicing etc.
Although not essential, you may have experience of dealing with challenging calls from and to young people regarding life skills and experiences.

What you need to know:

Salary will be pro rated to hours worked.
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our offices in Kingswood and from home. You will be required to work in the office two days a week. During your induction you will be in the office most days.
Working days will be Tuesday to Thursday, 8.45am to 5pm and Friday, 8.45am to 4.30pm. We envisage the non-working day would be a Monday (open to negotiation).

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 25th August 2026.
