Full job description

The Company

J&D Wilkie Ltd is a global technical textile manufacturing company, with its head office in Kirriemuir.

The Role

Following your training you will be required to: -

Carry out routine and specialised quality control tests on yarn and fabrics in line with industry standards.
Maintain accurate records, calibrate laboratory equipment, and raise non-conformances.
Work closely with production teams to provide quality feedback, documentation, and suggest process improvements.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring safe handling and disposal of chemicals and test samples.
Support new product development through trial testing and sample preparation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse test data accurately.
Proficient in using laboratory instruments and software for accurate data recording and reporting.
Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and relevant environmental and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
Effective communicator with strong training skills; able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Awareness of 5S standards and commitment to maintaining an organised, efficient, and safe working environment.

We offer

Monday - Friday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm alternating weekly shifts
£13.90 per hour
Pension and Life Assurance

Please note this is a temporary role up until May 2027.

The successful candidate may have the opportunity of fulfilling this, or another role, on a permanent basis and building their career within this expanding technology business.
