THE JOB ROLE
Due to the continued growth of Therma Mech, we are looking for a suitably experienced Plumber / Heating Craftsman to join our delivery team working on district heating projects across Central Scotland.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Supervisor and site teams, you will be responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of district heating systems and associated mechanical services infrastructure.
The role will involve the installation and commissioning of Heat Interface Units (HIUs), installation and testing of below-ground pre-insulated district heating pipework systems, and installation and testing of above-ground low temperature hot water (LTHW) pipework systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Taking responsibility for the safe and efficient installation of district heating systems to include:
- Installation, testing and commissioning of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) within residential and commercial developments.
- Installation and testing of below-ground pre-insulated plastic district heating pipework systems in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Installation of above-ground LTHW pipework, valves, fittings and associated mechanical equipment.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, schematics and installation specifications.
- Carrying out mechanical installations in compliance with industry regulations, project requirements and company procedures.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the required quality standards and within project timescales.
- Maintaining accurate records of testing, commissioning and installation activities.
- Identifying defects, installation issues and potential project risks and reporting these promptly.
- Working collaboratively with site supervisors, project managers, subcontractors and other trades.
- Ensuring all tools, equipment and materials are used safely and maintained in good condition.
- Supporting commissioning engineers during system testing and handover activities.
- Participating in toolbox talks, safety briefings and ongoing training programmes.
- Maintaining compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Promoting a positive safety culture and leading by example on site.
Essential
- SVQ/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or equivalent.
- Time served plumber or heating craftsmen
Desirable
- Experience in domestic and commercial
- Experience in installing preinsulated heating plastic pipework systems
- Full Driving Licence
Pay: £17.00-£24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
